A job with a market

Most production jobs pay a fixed amount per item. Here prices move with demand, so the butcher has decisions to make. That is what separates this job from a simple gather and sell loop.

The work

1. Catch the cows. The success rate rises as the character gains experience.
2. Change. Put on the job uniform at the locker.
3. Slaughter. Use the slaughter knife.
4. Wash. Rinse the carcasses at the wash station.
5. Cut. The cutting machine turns each cow into ribeye, sirloin, brisket, tenderloin, chuck, shank, kidneys and bone marrow.
6. Grind. Grinding raises the market value of the meat.

Two ways to sell

Direct sale. Quick, at a lower price per unit. Good for a short shift.

Delivery contracts. Find a customer, pack the order and drive it out. Pay scales with distance and order size.

Protection
